The titular "Sparks" are a fusion of Lumas (from Super Mario Galaxy ) and Rabbids. These companions are central to the game’s strategy. By equipping different Sparks, players can: like fire, ice, or electricity. Trigger defensive shields or area-of-effect heals.
The roster has expanded significantly. Players can now control , who joins the fray with his heavy-hitting Mechakoopas, and Edge , a mysterious, sword-wielding Rabbid. The game moves away from the Mushroom Kingdom, sending players to various planets—from the autumnal beaches of Beacon Beach to the frozen peaks of Pristine Peaks—each filled with puzzles and side quests.
